Honeymoon Travel Tips, Tricks & Know-How
Your 1st honeymoon is something to look forward to, especially after the busy & hectic Wedding Day! Good planning is key to have a memorable and enjoyable honeymoon holiday!
I have met many couples after their honeymoon. They told me that if they would have a better honeymoon if they had plan earlier. It can be tempting to just day dream about your honeymoon. But be prepared for hiccups. They may ruin your honeymoon if you fail to plan. It is worth the extra effort to ensure a stress-free honeymoon. Here are our 7 tips:
1) Book with a well-established travel agency
This is very helpful, especially if you are travelling to multiple destinations.
2) Plan your budget
Always map out the amount of spending required in your travel. Not just for your wedding planning, but it is also essential for your honeymoon. This will save you from heartaches of debts arising from honeymoon overspending.
3) Get organized
Make a travel checklist. And pack some non-prescriptive medication for flu, burns, stomach upsets and headaches. Keep them with you in your carry-on luggage.
4) Check immigration and custom procedures
This includes checking if you need to apply for travel/holiday visa to your destination countries. And whether your passport is at least 6 months valid prior to your travel dates.
5) Travel Insurance
This is essential. Read the terms and find out what are being covered. Most probable issues that you may encounter are flight delays, loss/delay of luggages or medical expenses incurred overseas.
6) Currencies and credit cards
Exchanging cash in Singapore prior to your travel is highly recommended. Because most money changers do not charge additional fees, unlike many overseas' money changers. Also, having more cash can bail you out at places that don't accept credit cards.
7) Always be alert & stay safe (esp. while driving)
Avoid staying out late at night and avoid wearing expensive jewellery and watches. For drivers, never drive when you are tired. Always have sufficient rest before driving to the next location. When you find yourself sleepy/dozing off, pull over immediately to catch a short nap.
